The last few weeks have gone fast and furious! ?Popping in to give a quick update; I plan to provide full recaps and updates?later?this week.
Hubby and I headed to Boston the weekend of April 16 for the 112th running of the Boston Marathon. He qualified back in 2014, and was thrilled to be able to run after his training was interrupted by hernia surgery in late December. ?I loved spectating and soaking up all the Boston energy!
The Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge (B2B)?has been on Hubby’s bucket list, and this year he had the opportunity to do it! I couldn’t go out to California without running too, and was scheduled to run the 21-miler since I didn’t make the lottery for the full marathon. We flew out to California on April 21. I’ll provide full details shortly, but I was able to upgrade to the full marathon, and had a great time running with my friend and teammate Debbie! Big Sur is now at the top of my list of favorite marathons and off my bucket list!
Mother’s Day 5K bRUNch
In the midst of training and travelling, Hubby and I have also been coordinating the Mother’s Day 5K bRUNch to be held on May 8. ?This will be the 5th year we’ve directed this race, and I love being able to give back to the running community and to direct a race that is not just for women only, but for all levels of fitness. ?I also love that our race is a goal race for the Girls on the Run, an amazing organization whose mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
A friend of mine is doing a detox program sponsored through her gym, and invited me to join her. I’m very nervous, yet oddly excited! ?In a nutshell, it consists of no caffeine, alcohol, sugar, dairy or gluten for 7 days. It will be an interesting week to say the least!
What’s on your bucket list?
